Tasting Notes: Green Melon, Strawberry, Peach
Origin: Guji Zone, Oromia, Ethiopia
Process: Red Honey
Here's your chance to try something unusual and very delicious. We were super excited when when our supply-chain partners at Balzac Brothers again brought in this red honey processed coffee, a real rarity in coffees from Ethiopia.
In the honey process, some—but not all—of the coffee cherry fruit around the beans is removed before drying. Red honey processed coffees like this one have much more mucilage left on the bean and are dried slowly in the shade, giving those wonderfully sweet and complex flavors plenty of time to develop. It's a labor-intensive process that really pays off in your cup.
This lovely sip is everything we didn't know we wanted from an Ethiopian coffee. It stands out with notes of green melon, strawberry, and peach, and smooth, clean body. We only purchased a single bag of this unique coffee, so get it while it lasts!

Note: We roast on Mondays and ship or have beans ready for pickup the following day. Order before midnight on Sunday to have your beans included in the next day's roast.
