Just a couple months ago, the price of green coffee beans reached a record high due to a perfect storm of global demand, post-pandemic shipping rate increases, the threat of tariffs, unpredictable weather and crop failures as a result of climate change, and—perhaps most significantly—market speculation.
Closer to home, what this means for Gray Squirrel Coffee Co. is that in order to cover our costs, we will need to raise our wholesale prices. We held off for as long as we could, but beginning May 1, you can expect to see a $2 per pound increase on our Level 1-3 coffees. We will continue to list our Reserve coffees at market prices, as usual.
